I exhaled through my teeth and turned away.\u00a0 \u201cThat\u2019s for another day.\u00a0 Right now, I know where I\u2019m needed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAll will be well,\u201d<\/i> she said softly, fading from view.\u00a0 \u201cTrust your visions of the children.\u00a0 All will be well.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
I shuddered again.\u00a0 You\u2019d better be right.<\/i>\u00a0 I ducked into the dim of the tent and jogged toward the secondary fire, dodging crates of supplies and other detritus on my way.\u00a0 There was surprisingly less chaos going on than I thought there might be, but in hindsight, I guess most people decided it would be a good idea to be elsewhere<\/i> after Tala\u2019s water broke.<\/p>\n
Truth be told, there was a little part of me that wished I<\/i> was elsewhere, too.<\/p>\n
She\u2019ll want you there\u2014she\u2019ll need you there.<\/i><\/p>\n
That thought was the only thing that kept me moving forward even as I cursed myself for being such a damned loyal coward.<\/p>\n
Dammit, Marin.\u00a0 Suck it up and do what you\u2019ve got to do.\u00a0 There\u2019s no way around it now.<\/i><\/p>\n
I steeled myself and moved faster, heading toward the glow of the fire and the sound of Tala\u2019s voice cursing god and everything else in a tone only a little louder than her normal voice.<\/p>\n
