Can we?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seamus stared at the fire. It was easier to watch the flames than try to meet anyone\u2019s gaze just then. He didn\u2019t want to watch their hope die a slow and agonizing death. \u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d he said quietly. \u201cI never spoke to the Ridden Druid after what happened to him. I don\u2019t know how he recovered, or how quickly that recovery happened. Phelan\u2019s the only one who did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, Phelan and us,\u201d Marin said with a faint grimace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Eri\u00fa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All eyes suddenly went to Matt, who glanced up from his cup of coffee, startled by the sudden attention. \u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou said something about Eri\u00fa knowing,\u201d Marin said. \u201cAre you sure?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her brother hesitated a moment before he shrugged slightly. \u201cI guess? I mean, I\u2019m pretty sure she wasn\u2019t there or was too young to remember most of what actually happened, but there must have been <em>stories<\/em> about it that Finn and Brigh\u00edd told her when she was growing up, right? Hell, maybe even Ciar himself. Have we thought to ask her if she\u2019s got any bright ideas?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seamus stood up. \u201cNo. But it\u2019s a damned good idea.\u201d <em>I\u2019ve got to find Leinth. Maybe the girl&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Where <em>was<\/em> Leinth, anyway?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHas anyone seen Leinth?\u201d he asked as he came to the sudden, startling realization that he hadn\u2019t seen his lover all day. While they hadn\u2019t exactly been attached at the hip since she\u2019d discovered him alive, they hadn\u2019t spent much time apart, either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I saw her talking to your second,\u201d Marin said. \u201cNot quite certain what they were talking about, though.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamnation and hellfire,\u201d Seamus muttered, wrapping himself in his cloak. \u201cI\u2019ll go get her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Jameson tied up helping Jacqueline, Leinth\u2019s the one with the best chance of tracking down that ghost. I don\u2019t mean to wait. Let me find her and we\u2019ll get this sorted.
