I shrugged. \u201cHard to say. I\u2019ve never seen him with anyone closer than a cousin before.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt used to be,\u201d Seamus said, seating himself on one of the logs near the fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay out of this, Seamus,\u201d Aoife snapped.<\/p>\n
He tsked softly and arched a brow at her. \u201cThat sounded dangerously like an order, Aoife.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI said stay out of it,\u201d she repeated. \u201cAnd I\u2019d listen if I were you, since I\u2019m pretty annoyed with you at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
I glanced at Seamus. He shook his head. \u201cSomething about me not having the decency to be dead.\u201d<\/p>\n
She rounded on him. \u201cThat\u2019s not it and you know it. Now stay out of this.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAll right, that\u2019s enough,\u201d Sif growled, shooting all three of them a nasty look. \u201cIf the lot of you can\u2019t play nice, I\u2019ll make it so you have to.\u201d She looked at Jacqueline. \u201cHow\u2019s Thordin?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGrumpy,\u201d Jacqueline told her. \u201cStarting to go stir crazy, which means he\u2019s probably about a week out from my letting him out of bed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd about three days from him deciding that\u2019s too long to wait and trying to get up on his own,\u201d Phelan added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThordin\u2019s here, too?\u201d Aoife\u2019s eyes fluttered shut and she tilted her head back. \u201cMaybe you were right, Gray, maybe we could have stayed exactly where we were.\u201d<\/p>\n
