I crossed my arms tightly against my chest and wished that I didn\u2019t feel as sick as I did. \u201cWe\u2019re going to have to lock her up or something to keep her from doing this, Seamus. We can\u2019t let her do it. She\u2019ll just make things worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re right,\u201d he murmured. \u201cShe will.\u201d He massaged his temple, closing his eyes for a moment. \u201cI can\u2019t believe she threw that back in my face.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou gambled and lost,\u201d I said, reaching over to touch his arm. \u201cIt happens. It was worth the shot.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI guess.\u201d He shook his head, then patted my hand gently. \u201cWe\u2019ll stop her. Hell, I\u2019ll stop her. I\u2019ll tie her up myself if I have to.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want to have to do that,\u201d I admitted. \u201cI\u2019d rather she come to her senses, you know? Otherwise we\u2019ll…we\u2019ll always worry. We\u2019ll always have to worry because we\u2019ll never be sure that she\u2019s not going to go off and make things worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou realize that\u2019s why she wants to go after Hecate in the first place,\u201d Seamus said, glancing at me. \u201cBecause of the uncertainty she\u2019s feeling, because she doesn\u2019t trust that Hecate\u2019s not going to come after us again.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course I realize that.\u201d I sat down heavily, staring broodily into the cookfire. \u201cI am more<\/em> than fully aware of that because it\u2019s a legitimate fear. This having been said, I have to believe that whatever Matt is doing now is working and we\u2019ll be safe. I have to trust him.
