\u201cEnough, Hera,\u201d Pluton said, his gaze turning back toward his companion. \u00a0His voice was stern, though quiet. \u201cLeave them. We have work to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman sneered slightly, but nodded. \u201cAs you wish, brother.\u201d She cast a disdainful glance toward Thom and Thordin. \u201cAnd what of them?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLeave them for now.\u201d Pluton hauled himself back up into his mount\u2019s saddle, then stared at Thom and Thordin as well for a long moment, long enough that Thordin felt the skin on his arms and the back of his neck beginning to crawl.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re not done with us.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI grant you hours,\u201d Pluton continued, his gaze settling on Thom for a long moment. \u201cPray you sort out the location of the druid or our lost child. Else we will ensure that you are not lying to us by force.\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, Pluton turned his mount and rode back toward his army. Hera cast one last glare at Thom and Thordin before she, too, turned and rode away.<\/p>\n

Thom took a slow, deep breath, looking sidelong at Thordin.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething tells me we\u2019re screwed,\u201d Thom muttered.<\/p>\n

Thordin shook his head. \u201cNot yet, but probably soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
