\u201cBullshit,\u201d Thom spat, trying to push himself up again. Marin winced at the vehemence in his voice and shook her head.<\/p>\n

\u201cKel, stay. Come on. You wanted to talk about this and Thom waking up isn\u2019t going to change that.\u201d<\/p>\n

She stood in the doorway, frozen for a moment, then looked back over her shoulder at both of them. \u201cYou two have enough to worry about,\u201d she murmured, hesitating. \u201cI shouldn\u2019t add to the freaking pile.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAdd to the pile,\u201d Thom rasped. Marin help him sit up, but pain still left spots dancing before his eyes and he felt light-headed, stomach turning over onto itself. \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d<\/p>\n

Kellin\u2019s lips thinned, but she closed the door. She sagged against it even as Thom sagged against the pillows Marin shoved behind him to help prop him up. In his cradle near the foot of the bed, Lin made a quiet whimpering sound.<\/p>\n

Thom exhaled quietly. \u201cKel, please.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI told Phelan I could feel something tugging on me,\u201d she said, the words tumbling over each other, as if she could barely hold them in. \u201cTold him I\u2019d felt it for a while, something that wasn\u2019t just the normal lines tugging at me or sensing the nodes of any of that. I said it felt like it was far away, something I couldn\u2019t quite put my finger on. He gave me this look and I\u2014I almost can\u2019t believe what he told me. I\u2019m not sure I want to but in my gut I know it\u2019s true and I have no fucking clue what it means.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKel, you\u2019re not making sense.\u201d Marin gathered Lin up from the cradle and then came back over to the bed, leaning against its edge as she cradled the infant. \u201cWhat did he say? What is it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAtlantis,\u201d she whispered. \u201cSomehow, I\u2019m linked to Atlantis. What I can do, what I\u2019ve always been able to sense, it\u2019s Atlantis<\/em>, Mar. I\u2019m linked to Atlantis somehow and I don\u2019t know what that means or how it might be important and it scares the shit out of me.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
