I reached for him but stopped as Seamus\u2019s hand closed on my shoulder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust wait,\u201d he murmured, his voice nearly lost in the storm. \u201cDon\u2019t distract him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Does he know what Matt\u2019s doing? Can he sense it? Or is it something\u2014<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I stopped, sucking in a slow, quiet breath and letting my hand fall back to my side. The distant drums grew louder, clearer.<\/p>\n<p>The sound of a horn echoed off the walls and the ruins and my stomach dropped. Next to me, Matt stiffened, his eyes snapping open, complexion suddenly ashen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBastards don\u2019t know when to quit,\u201d he whispered, hands curling into fists against the concrete and brick of the wall. Energy crackled around him and I swallowed, reaching for him again. This time, Seamus didn\u2019t stop me.<\/p>\n<p>As my fingers grasped his arm, I felt a hum, a current that flowed from him and into me, down to the marrow of my bones. My own magic responded to it somehow, flowing back in a sort of feedback loop, swirling and tangling around the power I hadn\u2019t realized he could draw. For a second, it was hard to breathe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMatt?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of his hands covered mine, though he didn\u2019t look at me, just kept staring out over the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s them,\u201d he said softly. \u201cIt\u2019s Olympium again. They don\u2019t know when to quit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A thousand questions died on my tongue. I wanted to know what was happening, at what point he\u2019d learned to draw power the way he was, wanted to know if he knew what our magic reacting to each other the way it was meant. We weren\u2019t twins, though our souls were. I couldn\u2019t remember it happening with Brigh\u00edd and C\u00edar, but that didn\u2019t mean it hadn\u2019t happened. Did he remember?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho?\u201d I asked, my voice hoarse. It wasn\u2019t the question I wanted answered, but definitely the one that needed to be asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAietes,\u201d he whispered back. \u201cAnd more. Hell. He\u2019ll give no quarter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho called the storm?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t know if anyone did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEither way, we\u2019ll find out,\u201d Seamus said. \u201cGive the order, Mar.
