Sif leaned against his chest, her head against his shoulder, his arms around her and her hands loosely grasping his. It was warm and quiet, as it should be as they rested there, still cocooned in their blankets.<\/p>\n<p>He knew it was getting late, that they both should have long ago gotten out of bed, but there was something about the sound of the rain that made both of them want to linger where they were\u2014or at least made him want to linger where they were. He listened to the rain, to the coming storm. Sif shifted slightly in his arms, looking up at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is it?\u201d she asked in a whisper.<\/p>\n<p>Thordin shook his head. \u201cStorm\u2019s coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNatural?\u201d she asked, nuzzling his collarbone. He smiled faintly, reaching up to thread his fingers through her hair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far as I\u2019ve been able to tell. Sounds natural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou haven\u2019t tried to sense it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo more than passively,\u201d he said quietly. \u201cNot hearing anything that makes me think this is any more than the usual summer rain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSummer,\u201d she echoed, then shook her head slightly. \u201cIs it still?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor another few weeks,\u201d he said quietly. \u201cNot too much longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinter will come early again,\u201d she said, running her fingers along his arm. \u201cLeinth and I were talking. She can feel it in her bones, she said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen did you talk to her?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI brought her dinner last night,\u201d Sif said. \u201cShe\u2019s still loathe to leave him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s recovering, isn\u2019t he?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She nodded. \u201cOf course he is. The entire world here would be up in arms if he wasn\u2019t, it\u2019s just slow\u2014slower, I think, than he and anyone else would like. Though I think Leinth doesn\u2019t mind keeping him in bed a little longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thordin smiled. \u201cThere are some advantages to that, aren\u2019t there?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sif smirked at him. \u201cWhat are you playing at?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think you can guess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She gave him an impish smile and kissed him lightly. \u201cBehave, my love,\u201d she murmured against his lips as she settled against him again. \u201cAnd make sure that storm\u2019s a natural one before we get too ahead of ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[This post is from Thordin&#8217;s point of view.] Leaning into the corner of their bed, buffered by pillows, Thordin tilted his head back, listening to the rain.
