\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thordin snorted.\u00a0 \u201cIt would be nice if it was something that simple.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cWith us, it never seems to be.\u201d\u00a0 She smiled weakly.\u00a0 \u201cMaybe someday we\u2019ll get lucky and it will be.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t think we\u2019re wrong about him being overconfident, though,\u201d Matt continued, his voice low.\u00a0 \u201cBut at the same time, I\u2019m not sure I know how to leverage that into a victory.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cSomething,\u201d Matt agreed, then sighed.\u00a0 Hecate reached up to squeeze the hand he\u2019d wrapped around her shoulders.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cShe\u2019s right,\u201d Hecate said.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019ll come up with a plan\u2014and it\u2019ll work.\u00a0 Everything will be okay.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cAt some point, our luck\u2019s going to run out,\u201d Matt said.\u00a0 \u201cWe all know that.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cIt will,\u201d she said softly.\u00a0 \u201cBut this time won\u2019t be it.\u00a0 I promise.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
