Kellin stared steadily at me for longer than was comfortable. I looked away, swallowing against a lump in my throat. I didn\u2019t like lying to anyone, least of all her. It always felt like she somehow deserved better than that.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou haven\u2019t seen anything,\u201d she said softly. \u201cNot about this fight. Have you?\u201d<\/p>\n

I shook my head. \u201cNo. Not about things. Things that I\u2019m sure have to come after, though. Lots of that. Nothing about this. I\u2019m not sure I want to.\u201d<\/p>\n

She snorted almost inaudibly and smiled, shaking her head. \u201cWho the hell wants to see visions of fighting and death and shit like that? Not me. I don\u2019t envy you and Thom. Not a damn bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one should,\u201d I murmured, staring at nothing. \u201cIt\u2019s a gift and<\/em> a curse and it depends on the day which one of those it is. The fact that everyone keeps looking to us for answers about how this is going to go is rough.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho\u2019s asked?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not about people asking, it\u2019s about the looks,\u201d I said, then sighed. \u201cI can see it when they look at us. They wonder if we know something we\u2019re not telling and then they wonder why we might not be telling. It\u2019s hard, Kel. It\u2019s so damn hard. Even if I haven\u2019t seen anything, the looks still come. Then we all wonder\u2014me included\u2014if now I\u2019m going to see something. If now the visions are going to come. Sometimes I hate it.
