Neve nodded. \u201cDon\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d Seamus said, smiling wryly. \u201cI think I\u2019m more impressed that she got Marin and Phelan on her side.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll that took was logic, I think,\u201d Neve said. \u201cAnd a healthy level of stubbornness. Mostly the logic, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seamus inclined his head slightly. \u201cMaybe you\u2019re right.\u201d He sat up slowly, wincing. Neve cursed under her breath, reaching for him again.<\/p>\n

\u201cDammit, what are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSitting up,\u201d he said, wincing. \u201cDon\u2019t start grumping at me about it, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

All of the moisture evaporated from her mouth. \u201cAll right, fine. Why?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy what?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you sitting up? Asking that isn\u2019t grumping, is it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Seamus shot her a smile that was half a grimace. \u201cNo. But I think I\u2019ve been flat on my back long enough, don\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cD\u00e9ithe agus arrachtaigh<\/em>, Seamus,\u201d she groaned. \u201cYou pick now<\/em>?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo better time,\u201d he said, wincing. \u201cExcept for maybe before they all left.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey would not<\/em> have let you go with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDid Thom go?\u201d<\/p>\n

Neve winced and looked away.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they let him go, they couldn\u2019t have stopped me from going, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Damn. I should have lied. I should have looked him dead in the eye and lied and said that Thom was still here.<\/em> \u201cSeamus\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my fight, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou had your fight,\u201d Neve said. \u201cOrcus is out for revenge. Let us handle that\u2014let them<\/em> handle that. Because they will.\u201d<\/p>\n
