\u201cAre we interrupting some kind of moment?\u201d J.T. asked as he limped up the hill. \u201cBecause if we are, we can give you a few more minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hecate choked on a laugh as she stepped back, glancing toward the healer. \u201cAlways, Jameson, always. Is it bothering you more than usual?\u201d She gestured toward his leg.<\/p>\n

He made a sort-of gesture with one hand, joining the pair where they stood in the shadow of some of the old trees. \u201cRain\u2019s coming, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt never ceases to amaze me how good of a barometer every single one of you is,\u201d Matt said, crossing his arms. \u201cNot disappointed at all, either, just amazed. Now if only your old breaks could tell us how bad it\u2019s going to be, that would be ideal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly Thordin can do that, I think,\u201d J.T. said.<\/p>\n

Astrid should be able to sort that out with a little more training from her father, I think.<\/em> Matt shook his head slightly. \u201cAre the others still coming?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. Caro was finishing up something before she headed up and I think Tala was almost at a stopping point with the bread. She might be an extra few minutes. Not sure about Thordin and Sif.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe might be out by the north pastures,\u201d Hecate said, glancing at Matt. \u201cShe said something about that at breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMm.\u201d Matt frowned. \u201cWe\u2019ll have to talk without her, I guess.\u201d She\u2019ll be mildly upset, but we can catch her up later if she misses this.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s this about, anyway?\u201d J.T. asked. \u201cHeard one of the Huntsmen cane back earlier than expected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt nodded. \u201cGilead. I\u2019ll fill you all in at once, if that\u2019s all right.\u201d<\/p>\n

J.T. shrugged. \u201cDoes Phelan know?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. He\u2019s also the one that told me about the other thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat other thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt glanced at Hecate, then at J.T. \u201cCan you wait?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess,\u201d J.T. said, frowning and glancing down the hill. \u201cIf I have to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEasier all at once,\u201d Matt said.<\/p>\n
