\u201cSo what kind of weird feeling is it, Travis, since David\u2019s too unconscious to tell us what\u2019s what?\u201d\u00a0 Lilah crossed her arms, canteen still in hand.\u00a0 The teasing smirk that curved her lips was all too familiar, especially after months on the road together.<\/p>\n

Months.<\/em>\u00a0 Bryant frowned to himself.\u00a0 Has it really been months?\u00a0 We left in the spring.\u00a0 Late summer now.\u00a0 I guess it has been, hasn\u2019t it?<\/em>\u00a0 He barely suppressed the urge to shake his head as he drifted from where he stood toward Issy and David, the motion unconscious.<\/p>\n

Travis made a face and shook his head.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s just\u2014it feels weird, that\u2019s all.\u00a0 Especially those two kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t call them kids,\u201d Bryant murmured.\u00a0 \u201cThey looked like they\u2019re about David and Issy\u2019s age.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably are,\u201d Issy said quietly, glancing up at him.\u00a0 \u201cDo you really think that we\u2019ll find who we\u2019re looking for here?\u00a0 Not just the Taleisins, but\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe,\u201d Bryant said.\u00a0 \u201cAt least one of the Taleisins is here.\u00a0 This is where Aoife said that her cousin had come, where her brother was.\u00a0 The stories…\u201d he let his voice trail away, staring blankly at the wooden plants of the floor.\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t know.\u00a0 Maybe we\u2019re interpreting the stories wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou mean maybe David\u2019s got them wrong.\u201d\u00a0 Lilah frowned.\u00a0 \u201cYou don\u2019t actually think that, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Bryant said quietly.\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t.\u201d\u00a0 He sucked in a breath.\u00a0 \u201cI think I\u2019m going to go for a walk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAre we allowed to go for a walk?\u201d Issy asked.<\/p>\n
